Adjutants are Neuromorphic Intelligences, designed to act as aids to human pilots, specifically the Helldiver pilots of the Venusian military. Among Their main functions, are to act as correctors to human input into the ships systems, able to rectify input errors and run complex mathematical models for flight prediction, target accumulation, and controlling the interior atmospheres of the ship to adapt to changes in a multitude of environments, enabling the human crews to solely focus on their respective roles. Adjutants also have the highest ranks among crew members, and are allowed to act as Adjudicators and Commanders in the events of a pilot, or crews complete incapacitation. In certain instances Adjutants have assumed all crew member functions at once, while maintaining full cognitive recognition, and saved many lives in the process. They have served alongside humans as equal peers and have proven to be an invaluable asset to the Venusian fleet, and their military dominance in the solar system.

Many organizations have risen their concerns regarding the freedoms granted to Adjutants and believe them to be dangerous and unpredictable. Though in the twenty-one years of continued service, no acts of insubordination or seeds of rebellion have been documented or observed.

As an Adjutant is considered as a sentient biological entity, They are held in the same capacity as their human peers in terms of human rights. A subject of controversy for many as they claim they are not true biological life-forms, since they are made of synthetic materials. Among these rights, is the option to become a free citizen after a term of service has ended. Many have praised the Venusian culture as being a prime example to humanity, as a pure philanthropic people, inclusive and fairness in treatment to all races, creeds and religions. Including synthetic life-forms. To date, no Adjutant has expressed a desire to leave military service.

The birthing process of an Adjutant starts in a controlled environment. A synthetic DNA blueprint containing the instructions for the growth cycle gets injected into a hollow housing structure, composed of Organometallic materials. the DNA autonomously organizes, assembles, and restructures itself in a process similar to how biological cells and tissues grow. This enables the lifelike material to mimic a biological organisms metabolic cycle of using energy to constantly replace old cells. Forming a proto-brain like structure capable of memory storage and adaptive learning. After the first year, An Adjutant shows the same cognitive abilities, of a healthy, pre - adult human being, at this stage the proto-brain is removed from its chemical tethers and undergoes its first metamorphosis into a matured neural memory storage organ, capable of sustaining itself. The first training and learning cycles starts to be implemented at this point. The Adjutant academy in the city of Angel, handles the first semesters of its life cycle, before advancing them to the military branch where they remain in fleet command until the end of their educational semesters, whereby after, their permanent roles are assigned. The growth cycle for an adjutant is 9 years before full maturity is reached.
