In the early 8th Cycle of the solar system , S'Jarta Carras, a rogue aviatrix from Earth, set out on her voyage to Mars. On orders from her Benefactors, she was to steal a Helldiver class drop ship from an advanced weapons and research complex near the Venusian capital city of  Angel. The ship had tethered to it an experimental Juno class Neural Adjutant, Untrained and without a preordained template framework. Carras' benefactors believed the Adjutant would be invaluable to Carras on her journeys, and help her seek out what they believed to be an answer to a question that would change the course of human history.

After narrowly escaping the Venusian military and making use of a Trebuchet facility above Venus, Carras, along with the Adjutant, reached Mars within two months. They descended into the atmosphere of the planet and was met by a thick layer of cloud and dust that had shrouded the world for the last  six hundred years,the origin of the storm still without explanation.

After entering into a small gap in the storms clouds on the far side of Mars, the Helldiver came under attack by a malignant hive like swarm that severely damaged the vessel. After a futile attempt to repel the attack, Juno sacrificed her synthetic life by blasting out a deadly EMP pulse, destroying herself, along with the Helldiver and the swarm, giving Carras a chance to escape and reach the surface of Mars..
